One of our wanderlusts this summer in US: Carmel, CA.
It was absolutely amazing, nothing short of that. From the quaint shops (several sold extremely intricate items, and I could hardly bring myself to walk out), to cobbled pathways, art and photography shops, blooming flowers in every corner... and so much more. Everywhere we walked & turned, there was beauty.
When it was time to leave, we could hardly bear to.
We only took a road trip to Carmel this time, but I wished we stayed the night or weekend there. Just basking around in the Carmel atmosphere was magical enough for me. If I could ever choose a retirement village, this small town would definitely be it.
